Resistance Training Specialization • 4 ECTS

Evidence-Informed Curriculum by IFBB Nordic Academy / Ville Isola, MSc

Your client trains hard—but the target muscle still isn't developing. What do you assess before adding more work?

When muscle growth stalls or movement causes discomfort, adding more sets or changing splits is rarely the answer. Learn how to evaluate structural levers, lines of pull, resistance profiles, and fatigue management for progressive hypertrophy.

Your education begins immediately upon enrollment — not in November. Module 0 opens today with the Course Handbook, primer video lectures, app setup, and foundational study guides so you arrive at the November 20–22 live Zoom clinics fully prepared.

The Core Coaching Dilemma

A client says: "My workouts are brutal, but my target muscle isn't growing." What do you change?

This is where basic workout prescription ends and systematic coaching begins. The common reactive trap is always "add 3 more sets," "train harder," or "switch to a different split." An evidence-informed resistance training specialist assesses structural levers, lines of pull, active range of motion, and stimulus-to-fatigue ratio.

The Common Reactive Trap

Your athlete trains with high effort. The split looks great on paper. But their pecs, lats, or glutes aren't responding, or progressive overload causes joint discomfort rather than targeted muscular tension.

If your only tool is prescribing more sets or copying pro bodybuilders' routines, you are guessing rather than assessing.

The Systematic Solution

Anyone can write an exhausting workout. A specialized coach assesses individual skeletal levers, adjusts bench angles and cable origins to match joint anatomy, and ensures mechanical tension is directed precisely where intended.

IFBB Advanced Resistance Training gives you that structured framework.

Professional Scope & Referral Boundary

This course teaches exercise mechanics, active range assessment, and load management for healthy athletic progression. When chronic pain or suspected joint pathology occurs, coaches learn to modify movement within pain-free ranges and refer to licensed physiotherapists or medical professionals.
